    Sick

Been under the weather the past couple days. In fact, I cancelled my Monday appointments so I could rest. Spent the day in bed chugging down Jamba Juice with the Immunity Boost watching downloaded episodes of my favorite TV show, 24, off iTunes.

Whenever I "catch" something, besides the opportunity it affords of rest and unwinding, I find that it also provides an important moment to evaluate.

You see, I believe sickness is not simply a matter of coming in contact with a germ. We do not get forced to our sick beds because we shook hands with a contaminated person, got breathed on by someone with the flu, or touched our face after touching an infected public bathroom sink.

If sickness was merely a matter of contact, we would all be sick all the time. All of us. We live in a world of bacteria and virus. They're everywhere and we meet up with these guys on a second to second basis.

That's why it always cracks me up when you hear someone say, "You're sick? Ugh! Stay away from me!"

I mean, yes, I'm not going to go out of my way to spread an infection. But really, what I got, you probably faced already a hundred times today before seeing me.

And yes, hygeine and sanitation are super-dooper important. But like I mentioned before, when I get sick, instead of racking my brains to figure out where I caught it or who I caught it from, the most important question to ponder over is WHY IS MY IMMUNE SYSTEM WEAK?

Cause, bruddah, I'm not lying when I say my immune system can take on anything out there. Strep, flu virus, Staph, hey, if my immune system is on its "A" game, nothing gonna take me down.

But if I stay having an off day, or week. OOOOH YEAH, things can get ugly and I can get knocked down for the count.

So to review the checklist: Have I been drinking enough water? Have I been getting what I need nutritionally? Have I been sleeping enough? Have I been controlling my stress in a positive way? Have I been getting adjusted? Have I been breathing correctly? Have I been smiling enough?

Checking this list is so important. If we can kaizen our life to a healthier level, we can take these moments of sick and turn em into something positive.

And what had me on the bed watching Jack Bauer save the country?

Not enough sleep these past few weeks.

    Confirmed. Simple as that.
